I wonder how many of the more rabid writers condemning Luke could actually live in their own glass houses. I suspect that these are the same people whose families were also ardent supporters of the NP and HNP but have somehow developed selective amnesia. I wonder if these bile-slinging Springbok "supporters" have untainted pasts themselves or could list one thing that they did to bring our country to a democratic RSA. Remember how the boere ostrcaised the Rev. Beyers Naude? How many of the staunch Afrikaners had only vile things to say about him?

Luke is his own man and is entitled to his own opinions.... just let him be.

I was one of the many thousands who booed him at Newlands and will continue to do so until the day die....
It's Rassie's fault for including him in the team, so if the rest of the team don't deserve it, don't blame the crowd, we don't want him in the Stormers, in fact we don't want him to represent South Africa in anyway ... let him bugger of to the Eastern cape and go farm puke

The point here was not to defend Luke. Sample qoute- "The debates on whether Luke is a doos or a hero raged on endlessly last year and I am not about to re-open them."

What I am saying is this- Newlands, Loftus, Kings Park etc are great monuments to SA Rugby. Our teams also are our pride and joy. There is a history (good and otherwise) attached to these places. Is booing Luke Watson a chapter that needs to be added to their annals?

What sense is there in soiling both these with vitriol aimed at one man out of thirty who will only ever be around so long before he becomes another footnote in the history books?

or as The Sumo ( www.thoughtleader.co.za/thesumo ) said about JZ-is he that important to you?

Luke made a racist statement. How can you defend him? Isn't racism the ultimate sin in the world? As an Afrikaner I wear the mark of racism forever. All over the world my people are remembered only for one thing, even though I'm not a racist. And now this doos goes and call me a dutchman! Where are all the the people who fight against racism now?

I think that for the Stormers the boo's will decrease as the season goes on, but when he visits the provinces of RSA, the boo's will ring loud and clear.

He must be very grateful that the Stormer's are playing at home vs the Sharks and not at Absa Stadium - Kings Park.

Puke Watson is Rugby’s Julius Malema. A no-good blowhard playing political games for private gain.

He means less than nothing to me, and he is an average player at best. Craig’s post up from mine says it best. The only fetching he does is fetching his ill-deserved paycheque.

To flog the dead horse more – he had no problems accepting money and his 15 minutes of fame in that jersey, but when it looked like he won’t ever be getting it on merit alone, he made his feelings quite clear. Nope, “doos” is not “alleged”, its proven.

Puke, its not too late to redeem yourself (and get your “L” back). Apologise for saying something idiotic, and donate ALL your match fees earned under the Bok jersey, every cent, to a rugby development fund, and you won’t be a Doos (with a capital “D”) anymore. Then you actually put your money where your mouth is and your protest will make sense. Else, you will be booed come every game. You are not welcome on our rugby fields – This has been made quite clear, not just by fans, but by your fellow players.

Go Bokke! To hell with "poolitics", it’s a game, an institution, and undeserving of these shenanigans. Its there to be enjoyed, not to made poolitical issues over.

Now REALLY considerate fans would have each taken along a bucket, you know... just to be on hand, ready, just in case... should there be a dreaded Vomiteville Horror.

I mean, have a little consideration for the other players, who would want to survive a tackle only to end up with their face in Luke's breakfast?

Next time, buckets, ladies and gentlemen.

If the thought of wearing a Springbuck jersey sickened Luke so much why did he not decline from being chosen for the team and then make his statement. Money talks. I would have had more respect for his feelings then. Now as an afterstatement it stinks of other agendas. Why make a fuss of Luke? He does not deserve it, and also not to play for the Springboks.

Best mould fetcher? I hope you're referring to the stuff that grows on bread and his ability to scrape it off because he's not even close to or best fetcher of a rugby ball. Jaques and Wikus are in a different league compared to this doos who does his taking off the field. As for going to the frozen north to pursue a "fortune" I'm going to need convincing that a top-flight team would take him. When Jake white asked the other s14 coaches what they thought of his ability they all agreed that he would not make their starting line-up.
As for Rassie including him in his team, I reckon the very astute Mr Erasmus is playing the political two-step.
And yes, when they come to play THE SHARKS you can be sure we will make him feel very welcome :-)

Luke "Puke" Watson, his father and other ANC's who wage war against the Springbok have, most obviously, hidden agendas. Otherwise how can anyone be so stupid the ignore the following two facts:
a) Nelson Mandela wore the Springbok jersey with pride. Would this greatest leader wear the jersey if it it any way resemble anything about apartheid? If Luke and his buddies' answer to this question is yes, then they question the integrity of Madiba. If their answer is no, then they acknowledge in fact that the Springbok jersey is representative of all in the new SA.
b) The Springbok remains our national animal 14 years after apartheid. If the ANC has a problem with the Springbok, why did they not remove it from the country's heraldics?
It is clear that only a handful of selfrightious idiots feel they would like to vomit on the springbok jersey. And they succeeded in making me feel like vomiting when I hear their names.
