Here in Ireland we have been infatuated with NZ/Aussie coaches for the last few years and it has not worked. The 'Boks were a joy to watch last weekend - committed, aggressive, focussed and seizing on every opportunity. If we had 10% of that attitude instead of the antics of hair-gelled and injury-prone little rich kids from Leinster, we might have some hope. Good luck you guys, enjoy every minute of your success, you have earned it

I heard from a friend (was busy WP supporters crying in Kbly at the time) that the New Zealand Hearald said Ricky's try was luck or something to that effect. Ja well no fine. See the tears in my eyes. Probably one of the greatest tries to clinch a victory that I have ever seen and deserves a special place in SA rugby history.
Bonga. Couldn't we have some forum talk regarding the latest offerings regarding television reffing, assistant refs and also the apparent rise of inconsistent rulings by refs?
It seems to me that the introduction of all these measures to make the game flawless in terms of precision decisions, has taken the sparkle out of the intention of a lot of viewers and players, who want to have a lekker time and argue like hell over what should have been, or what could have been,
By pet grief is a team that slogs away at the tryline for infinity, eventually pushes over, only to be told that the TMO couldn’t see the ball grounded. The boys deserve better. Only advantage? 5m scrum , just enough time to fetch a cold one in the fridge.

Firstly-www.irb.com

see the rankings on the right hand side of the screen.

Secondly-As I said above, you can only play whoever is put in front of you. Says a lot about the Wallabies (who lost to an England we royally shafted twice in the World Cup) and the All-Blacks that they couldn't make it to the final to face us.

Were we supposed to play their matches for them so they'd make it?

World Champions? I thought that we are the holders of the World Cup. We did not play Australia or New Zealand in the World Cup competiton, so it is not a true reflection of the best rugby teams in the world. The world rankings are a true reflection and I still see New Zealand on top of that ranking.

Excellent piece, Ntshings.

Thanks for putting out there what many think, but lack the Double-Danglies and the talent to convey it.

On Grant’s comment about the squad being patched up from last weekend to vaguely reflect Jake’s RWC winners, just some point of discussion:

1.	Percy played one of his worst games I have ever seen him play, it was very uncharacteristic of him. He should’ve been subbed early on, for his own sake.
2.	Butch looked like a gay kid who was forced by his father to play rugby in an attempt to toughen him up. He was lethargic, soft and uninterested. He kicked late and was generally on another fairy planet, like he would’ve rather been playing with Barbie and Ken and their summer holiday house.
3.	Ricky, excellent move to help the team clinch it at the end, but personally I was calling for his head since the 1st half. He made four pee-wee rugby errors, that try and his defensive kicking are his only saving grace.

One last thing, I was listening to the foreign commentary (just to agitate my soul more and to exponentially increase my enjoyment of the egg on their faces at the end of the match should we have won) and even they were baffled by the blatant ignoring of Brian Habana on the wing by his team-mates carrying the ball forward.

Habana stayed relevant in that team even with the lack of ball in hand opportunities. He was brave, as all coloureds that I know are, and he was on par chasing down everything – ‘Why don’t the SA backline let the Best Winger In the World do what he does best?..’ was the question I heard from the commentators even them, in utter disbelief.

"Some people do make one almost wish Jacob Zuma would put down the baby oil, buy a GPS and finally locate that damn machine gun."

Left me speechless.

Now I wish all the 'rugby experts' who missed their calling to Boots and All would keep it down while the rest of us celebrate.

Grant mate.

First up thanks for the feedback mate. Don't agree with some of your points re: Snor, but I cannot fault your reasoning and that's what this is about hey?

As for the Wallabies, I am fully aware of the danger ANY Robbie Deans team poses but I don't think the Wallabies will be more than a speedbump for complacency this year. Certainly after this season they will be back to their annoying best (assuming they get decent front-rowers)

They have a good crop of youngsters who have awesome potential (Beale etc) but not yet.

Paddy mate, Go to any rugby forum, you will find them. Sad really. Can we not unite behind our team, better or worse?
