@Paddy - Short and sweet!

@Slider - Fully agree with you, I think the players are enjoying not being treated like kids or robotos and certainly are thriving. If you haven't seen it yet, check out the aftermath of the victory in the changerooms - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I8AlmojsxRc (Hit refresh until it plays. F&^$ing YouTube)

Magic stuff!

I think Peter is showing what is called participative management. This is quite a turnaround from the traditional South African method, and more power to him. He has seemingly identified the middle and junior management skill of Gold, Muir, Smit, Matfield, Jean de Villiers, Butch and others. They seem to be thriving on it.

As usual, you only get get a bit of slack to work on the long term goals while you are winning, such is the nature of elite sport. Let's hope they get that slack because I think they can create something really special. I note a comment from Robbie Deans that he has noticed how the Boks have added expanse to their traditional game. Deans is without doubt one of the most astute analysts and students of the game.

Oh, your point is well made about his fashion sense, but the cricket pullovers are official Canterbury squad kit. It gets cold in New Zealand you know. I happen to like them, but what do I know?
