Good Piece.

Let's face it, Becks has always been more name that game. Granted, he was an above average player, but let's face it, nothing jaw dropping. His secret lay in making himself a product. He and his family lived larger than life, seeking media attention at every turn. He made himself a world icon while better players than himself, well, player footie.
In sport, reputation is sometimes bigger than talent and because of his 'brand', turned him into a 'better' footballer than he really was.

So ja, England are better of without Old Becks...and he will come to SA to do what he does best- grab headlines. Except in SA he will have to compete with JZ and Malema.

At 34 and enough money in the bank, Beck should sit on the side, scouting for new talent while for fitness training playing in a senior team (the beer team).
Trying to get back to the world top in soccer after this serious injury is madness. He could use his talents better while he still can.
