Apparently 200,000 people spectated over the 4 days which is huge - if tournaments became more competitive I am sure you would see similar attendance more regularly. That whole notion of representing your country/club does inject something extra into the competition and I think then we would see plenty of talent coming through. You play the course on any given day. The Ryder Cup is brilliant because the competitive instincts resurface between old rivals. I do fully agree that Tiger is once in a generation. Yes, perhaps it is a stretch to say players aren't trying, but would you not agree that if there was more at stake, the hunger to win would be greater on the Tour and thereby generate more competition for Tiger? I don't think that the others aren't trying or not interested, they just aren't consistently as good.
