Jake had some crappy years between 2004 and the World Cup. Was he fired then or persisted with? Straeuli was persisted with even.

Nick Mallet sabotaged his own '99 world cup chances and lived to tell the tale. Viljoen chose to go back to his life of luxurious pleasure rather than deal with incessant media heckling.

So who was fired for losing four matches then Joe?

Whilst I can agree that the All Blacks are the most consistent side the Springboks have not played well. I dont think anyone watching saturday's match would have said the Wallabies played well. Its just sad to see a sportsteam with no idea what to do with the ball.

What does upset me is the back track to saying there will be a call to sack the black coach. I dont think it has anything to do with colour and we as South Africans keep suggesting its colour driven. In reality every coach in SA Rugby that has lost games like this has faced the chop. Even the World cup coach was not reappointed. We have a history of firing the coach.

However the big question is when will we stop suggesting that everything that happens is related to race. My Aussie and NZ friends keep asking me when will we get over the hurdle and assume that the issue is not race driven.

We didnt just play badly we had no idea what to do and leadership looked lacking. Direction was confused and plan looked like "throw it about - something will happen" it did we lost the ball
