But I've changed. I now only see the wonderful opportunities we have, to promote South Africa as a relatively safe, relatively inexpensive travel destination; to show the world that Africa can host such an event succesfully; that we can compete in international sport (rugby and cricket obviously doesn't count). But for that to happen, we must all work together: citizens, players, and most of all, the politicians. I’ll admit that I was one of those who doubted we would be ready to the World Cup.
